PERSONAL STATEMENT

I often return to a quote from the late David Lynch: “You don’t make the fish; you catch the fish.” Ideas already exist, drifting through the vast, strange fabric of existence. As artists, we’re just antennas, tuning in at the right moment. I’ve been lucky enough to catch the signal—and fortunate to bring these ideas to life.

Much of my work is shaped by the materials themselves—guided by my surroundings and the shifting political and societal landscape. Found objects carry their own histories, and I’m drawn to the tension between what they once were, what they can become, and what they might ultimately represent. The things we discard—fragments of industry, remnants of daily life, gifts left behind by the tide—speak volumes about consumption, waste, and resilience. Pairing material with meaning, I reimagine what’s overlooked, pushing against traditional notions of value and permanence.

Through my work, I want to challenge how we see the world—our relationship with the environment, with society, with what we throw away. Each piece sparks a conversation, pulling focus to the urgent issues that often fade into the background of our daily lives.
The world speaks. Art is how I answer.
